Shopping
Food
Our houses are secluded so the nearest food shop is about 5 minutes drive in Hartmanice. You will find there all basic food as well as many things for household.
In Susice (10 minutes drive) you will find some well known chains or supermarkets like Tesco, Lidl, Billa… They are open daily 8 a.m to 8 p.m.
Household etc.
Basicly you will find almost everything what you may need in Susice – there are lots of small shops as well as 3 pharmacies.
Transport
Even with good communal transport it is difficult to stay in our houses without car. However there is a bus stop about 400m from our houses. Buses are going to Susice railway stations. At week-ends there is a bus connection to Prague.
Driving
The Czech Republic has a very well maintained network of roads. The traffic rules in the Czech Republic are about the same as the traffic rules in the rest of Europe. Please notice that there is a zero tolerance policy on alcohol while driving. So even one beer is too much.
At the gas stations you can buy all the usual kinds of (unleaded) petrol, diesel and gas.
When you drive your vehicle you are at all times required to have your lights on. Also you always must have with you a safety vest, a warning triangle and a first aid kit that hasn’t passed the expiration date yet.
Emergency calls
The European emergency number 112 is not the only emergency number in the Czech Republic.
Alongside 112, the following emergency numbers are available:
150 – fire brigade,
155 – rescue/ambulance,
158 – police
It is possible to call 112 even without a SIM card. 112 calls are answered on average within 1 second.
The calls can be answered not only in Czech, but also in English, German, Polish, Russian and French with the help of translating software.
Post office
The nearest post office is in Hartmanice. To post a card you need to buy a 17 Kč stamp.
Hospital
The nearest hospital with an emergency service is in Susice (10 minutes). As we live next doors we will help you if you have some serious problems.
